Warranty

Two warranties, kept apart and dated

One sheet lists both, with who backs each one and when it starts.

  • The manufacturer's warranty

Covers the product against manufacturing defects. Terms, proration and transfer differ by maker, so we write out the ones for your product and register it for you.

  • Our workmanship warranty

Covers leaks caused by how we installed the roof, for the term on your estimate. It does not cover storm, ice-dam or impact damage, or work done by others on the roof, including panel work.

  • Your solar company's terms

Those stay theirs. We write their start dates on the same sheet so you can see every date in one place.

Questions

Questions homeowners ask

What warranty do I get?

Two parts. The manufacturer's material warranty covers the product, and our workmanship warranty covers our installation. The terms of each, and who registers it, are written on your warranty sheet.

What does a lifetime warranty mean?

Usually it covers manufacturing defects for as long as you own a single-family home, and it is prorated after an initial period. Terms differ by maker, so we write out the ones that apply to your product.

Do you handle insurance claims?

No. You decide whether to file, you deal with your insurer, and your deductible stays yours. We inspect, photograph and write an itemized estimate you can share with your insurer. If you ask, we can meet your adjuster at the house.
